IT Service Desk Updates

A huge thank you goes out to the team that worked overnight and throughout today to complete the Banner database migration and reconfigure the various apps to ensure they talk to the new database. 

At this time, the bulk of the work is complete, with only a few tweaks remaining. At this time, everything should be functional and working as expected. If you notice any issues with the apps/programs you use, please submit the issue via the Service Desk ticketing system at and we will work through any issues that arise. 

A Banner Core Team meeting will be scheduled over the next week to discuss the migration and plan our next steps in the upgrade process as we approach phase 2.

Banner Database Migration

To All Users,

The IT Department will be conducting a critical Banner database migration on January 25th, starting at 8PM with an anticipated completion time of around 7 hours. During this time, Banner and its connecting services will not be available. After the database migration, on January 26th, the IT Department will be reviewing all third party and custom Banner applications to verify they are communicating with the new database.  Examples of applications that will be impacted include Wavelink, Automic, in-house developed apps that speak directly to Banner, to name a few. 

The IT Department and the Banner Core Team are working together to ensure a smooth transition and will test key services upon completion.

Banner 9 is live!

Banner 9 is now available in Production - Kudos to Tyler!! 

You can now access links to Banner 9, 8, or Self-Service from the following page (your desktop banner icon will be updated to this page):



Please keep the following in mind:

  • Banner 8 end of life is December 31, 2018 – please make sure you are comfortable with navigating and processing your daily tasks within Banner 9 before then

    • See attached Banner 9 overview and keyboard shortcuts

    • Your login for Banner 9 is your network login, which is the username and password you currently use to sign-in to your computer.

    • Your login for Banner 8 remains the same as current

    • For Banner 9 you should use Chrome or Firefox – not Internet Explorer (IE)

    • If you have multiple Banner accounts, a work study account, or a generic account, please contact Tyler Fish at to set up these special accounts

To facilitate the quick transition to Banner 9, we will be offering the following open lab sessions .

Please drop-in when available and try the pages you normally use in Banner. We will be there to assist and answer your questions.
